Starship Enterpris. Both are good guns. The CQB is much more comfortable to carry, it's controls are much more ergonomic and the trigger is still without peer. Therefore I do agree with what they state about the necessity of being your own armorer.

Definitely a dated article, and it remains true that Hackathorn and Vickers were heavily-involved in the development of the newer gun, but the points remain as valid today as they were then. These guys know the terrain and probably hold the in higher regard than anyone; that said, they also know when it is time to mea culpa on the virtues and vices of the old war horse.

The HK 45 was designed from the outset to exceed the performance perimeters of the in every respect, and if it weren't the better gun, something would be very wrong indeed. That said, older doesn't mean useless -- or even obsolete -- by a long shot. The custom is a high-quality fountain pen.

A cheap ball point will work better, more consistently and with less fuss, but it will also lack all of the intangible refinement that makes writing with a fountain pen an experience to be savored, rather than just another chore. It forces you to take your time, craft your manuscript and tend to the needs of your writing instrument, even as it delivers a smoother line, a satisfying heft and a more distinctive result.

So it is with the It is heavy, which makes it particularly well-suited to the. It possesses an excellent trigger that no other handgun can equal. It offers a subjective feel in the hand that meets a rather particular need, and it catches the eye in a way that only a true icon can. The gun is a part of our national fabric, and still an incredibly effective tool. The HK 45 presents the logical cognitive choice. The is the one you want deep in your soul. My fountain pens are Rotring s. I sold an HK to get my firstafter I shot a I haven't looked back and don't miss the HK at all.

In my hands, a is MUCH better. The HK is a great pistol, but it's not the best pistol for me.Based on the full-size USP models, these handy pistols combine compact size with optimum effective shooting performance.

The reduction in trigger reach and grip circumference increases concealability and enhances shooting ergonomics. This makes the pistol easy to shoot without sacrificing concealability. Like their large frame predecessors, USP Compacts are designed with the demanding needs of the law enforcement and military shooters in mind.

To reduce the length of the slide and barrel on the USP Compact, the mechanical recoil reduction system found on large frame USPs has been replaced by a specially designed flat compression spring contained in the captive recoil spring assembly by a polymer absorber bushing.

Service life is still engineered to exceed 20, rounds. Easy to shoot, simple to maintain; the USP Compact is a reliable, safe, accurate, and highly concealable pistol. Part No. HK Web Store. Search for:. Find a Dealer. Read More.

I've been reading what I can find on Google, but I'd rather read something from a name I know here.

Remove Advertisements. The HK45 is slimmer, lighter and is only a moderate single stack 10rds versus the USP's double stack. Its built for human hands so there's that. I love mine. But I like the ergo's better. I think it'd be a win. But I know how much you like that USP. I've owned both at the same time I had a USP Tactical and found the HK45 to be much more ergonomic and also because of the newer recoil system it has much less muzzle flip.

The USP was disgustingly accurate, but it was a huge pistol and didn't fit my medium sized hands all that well.

Salinas sureno killed

The HK45 fit me very well, was accurate but for the size of it I couldn't get over that it could only hold 10 rounds I ended up getting rid of both but after some time I wish I kept both. Thanks for the feedback guys. The dilemma that I have is that I want a threaded barrel and I need to replace the night sights on the gun.

Then again, I should probably just suck it up and just get the new barrel. I figure the night sights can wait. I've been meaning to post in this thread since it came up but just hadn't had a chance to look the two over for holster compatibility till this morning. The HK 45 will sit in the rig about a quarter inch further than the USP because the trigger guard is in either a slightly different position or the barrel is slightly longer.

Either way for the holster it's going to sit deeper slightly. The overall width of the slide is basically the same, the contours are different. Retention is mostly from the chamber and trigger guard which are pretty much the same.Advertise Here. User Name Remember Me? Overall height is actually short but bore-axis is high. The difference is noticable but it is not that big an issue. It was actually more difficult to find a holster for it. And magazines were expensive they also take round USP Compact. Decocker may be tricky if you ride it like the safety. Trigger in SA mode is actually more like the XDM, in that it has some light takeup, then requires a noticeable increase in pressure for the last bit before it releases.

However, the HK45C trigger does not stack like the USP sometimes does - as in it does not gradually increase in weight through its pull. As another poster in another post suggested - that may be due to more of my time spent competing with the latter two though. But I detail strip it about a quarter as often as my Not because I think the HK45C is tougher but because it really doesn't get as dirty. Earlier, when I used to detail strip it as often as my - there just wasn't hardly any dirt to clean.

Too bad it doesn't come out of the box with tritium sights - it comes with luminous - which requires exposure to light first. Still prefer my as it has been reliable but the HK45C is most certainly a good gun overall. Last edited by FiX; at AM. HK45 Compacts can be also be fitted with threaded barrels for use with muzzle mounted sound suppressors. By using the modular approach to the internal components first pioneered by HK on the USP, the control lever function of the HK45 and HK45C can be switched from the left to the right side of the pistol to accommodate left-handed shooters additional parts required.

For true ambidextrous use, a control lever can also be mounted on both sides of the pistol if required.

A polygonal bore profile effectively seals propellant gases behind the bullet—increasing bullet velocity. An added benefit of a polygonal barrel is its resistance to wear. I cannot comment on the newer HK45 c other than it is a different design, some would say an improved design and the ergonomics are superior. I have had experience with the P30 and in most ways the HK45 is the 45 version of the P The P30 is outstanding. Options and configurations should be the same or similar between the models.

By all accounts I have read it is an excellent firearm. I do have experience with the USPc 45 and thought it was very good. Good enough I intend to get another one. I don't think you can go wrong with either if HK is your cup of tea. The USPc is a bit blockier especially in the slide but without a doubt a reliable work horse and at a lower price point.

Both are going to be solid performers but the HK45 c is going to be more refined, have superior ergonomics lot of effort went into the new modular grip design and of course more expensive.

Both are great guns, and they both use the same recoil spring design. So, it's really a matter of which feels better in your hand. Joined Sep 25, Messages 6 Reactions 0 Points 0.
